Me, Debit Card and Al Rajhi Bank

I have got the funds, now how can i withdraw the cash? PayPal requires Visa credit/debit card. I already own two MasterCards (1st one is for retail purchase/bill payments, 2nd one is for fuel), so i don't think it's a need for me to add another CREDIT card. Therefor i decided to get a Visa DEBIT card for PayPal withdrawal purpose only. I am interested on trying Debit Card offered by Al Rajhi bank so i rushed myself there.

It is amazing how fast the procedure is. You need to open an account with them with minimum opening amount of RM20. Within 10 minutes the cards is ready to be used. Oh ya don't forget to ask the officer any related fees. Make sure you only make withdrawals via Al Rajhi ATMs only, otherwise you will be charge RM4 for withdrawal fees via other banks ATM.

Ok i m done with the card issuance. Then what i need to do is to add this card into my PayPal records as withdrawal card. Easy. You will be charged RM1 from Al Rajhi for this linking process. I think it is affordable, considering the service is very good.

So i instruct PayPal to withdraw the funds into my Visa Debit card. You will be charged RM16 (by PayPal) for this service. According to PayPal, it needs around 5-7 business days for the money to be available in my Debit Card.

However, i already got my funds on 3rd day! So fast. Being international bank do gives special advantage to me as their customer. It is a good experience especially when we learn everything from scratch.

eBay, PayPal and Me

Salam and Good Day!

For past 3 weeks i m handling a customer from Canada. I supposed she browse into ebay.com.my since that is the only way she could reach Malaysian eBay stores (i did not list my store for international trade because i want to save money from listing fees - eBay Malaysia is FREE). Probably she knew the strategy to get cheap items by browsing directly into Asian eBay sites because usually items listed in eBay.com/eBay.uk/eBay.au is far more expensive than Asian stores. Smart eBayer!

She ordered 2 items and ready to pay via PayPal. Being first-time handling cross-border transaction, i was quite worried and panicked on how to charge her. I know the transaction only could be done via PayPal but, what about PayPal fees?

After few hours of studying the Paypal fees and with help of a calculator, i manage to come out with a formula so that what i get is still nett payment (not eaten up by PayPal charges). Here's how:

Step 1
Login to your Paypal account. Look out for tab 'CURRENCY CONVERTER'

Step 2
Using its currency converter, convert the total payment (items price+shipping cost) in MYR into USD -> X

Step 3
Simply use this formula:
[(X*4.5%)+USD5.30] + X -> Y

Hence, total payment that i have to charge the buyer is: (Y)

*Tip: To double check whether the result is correct, kindly use this formula:
Z - [(Z * 3.39%) + USD5.30] = X

This way i dont lose my profit to PayPal.

And within a day she send the total payment to me. I make around 85% NETT profit with this single transaction (^-^)

My eBay Life

Hi, it has been few days after my last post. I was a bit busy with my online business via eBay.

I got few orders from eBay buyers so i must manage everything all in time and in place. I need to get the supply, go to post office and get back to my desktop to email my customers their items in on their way.

I admit it is very hectic if you get orders everyday and handle everything in one day. There's a day i got multiple orders as well as just ONE very cheap order. Whatever it is i will try my best to post it on the same day so that my customer would be able to receive it the next day. At this very beginning, building a good reputation is vital so that they will be happy and buy from me again.

And yes, finally I manage to collect 10 positive feedbacks last night. This mean i am now eligible to open up an eBay store. Wow! It is a good progress though as i made it within less than 3 months (fast enough for me laa..).

Now my focus is to build up and design my store as convenient and neat as possible. I never thought setting a store is easy as this. Using eBay as platform gives you no headache at all since everything is done for you. You only have to custom it according to your need and the rest is just like a breeze.

Ok enough for now, i need to get back to my store 'site'. Lot of 'renovations' need to be done. Visit my store h e r e, probably at this moment the store is already opened and has being well-furnished :)

README FIRST

Hi, this is my first posting. Actually i have other 4 blogs to 'maintain' but that depends on my mood condition. Yes i am a moody person and when i bored with existing blog i just simply create new one to build a so-called new environment.

Well i have enough of writing for fun or for expressing emotions on unworthy issues. Now i am thinking of starting this new blog, yes, http://www.passive-earnings.blogspot.com/ .

Why 'passive earnings'? Ok basically i am tired of working so hard but getting just few earnings. I work ACTIVELY to make a living. All tears and sweats never easy to explain.

One day i got so numb that i could not think properly. My boyfriend advised me to take a break. And i did. I went to a prominent bookstores just wandering around without intention of serious buying. Then a book titled 'Buku Rahsia Buat Duit Dengan Ebay catched my eyes. I flipped it through, looking what's inside it. After 10 minutes, i bought it.

I finished the book within two days (ya, not fast enough ^-^). On the third day i went on internet and start applying the step-by-step guide on how to open an account with ebay. I got few stuffs that i thought would be sellable. It took me just one day to get a sale!

It was so exciting that i didnt realize i make a loss because i didnot study about postage cost :(

Well it is a good start actually. From the book i also learn about PayPal, multiple listings, tips on buying item on auction etc. It is a good book for a beginner. As soon i think i am 'pandai' enough, i resell it in ebay. Yes, i got a buyer again ^-^

It is exciting to know that strangers willing to buy from you and then leave you a flattering feedback. It is not just merely get profits, but also earn respects from the people that do not know you. You should try, then you know what i mean :)

Tomorrow i am going to post more about my ebay activity. I may not yet successful with this project, but at least i am trying my hands on something new (to me). Please come again and be generous to leave me a comments about my postings. I really hungry for that.
